New Question on Draft of 2019 1040

The IRS has released a draft of the 2019 Form 1040 which can be accessed at https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-dft/f1040s1--dft.pdf. On the draft there is a new question that asks if taxpayers at any time in 2019 did they receive, sell, send exchange or acquire any financial interest in any virtual currency. This question only needs to be answered if the taxpayer is required to file Schedule 1. If the taxpayer is not required to file Schedule 1, the question does not need to be answered. Taxpayers should be prepared to answer that question.
